Chaumont Bay (pronounced ‘sha-MO’) sits atop a large eastern Lake Ontario bay known as the Golden Crescent. More protected than most lake embayments, Chaumont is a popular location for pickerel, northern pike, walleye and more.
It’s a great staging area for Lake Ontario deep water trolling charters and is among the most popular ice fishing places in the state. Winter jigging for perch is second to none and the good catches stretch into the spring, where cold weather fisherman pull infinite numbers over the sides of their boats.
